Positive: Nokia Lumia 822 has a nice screen. Gorilla Glass 2 adds extra scratch protection. Windows 8 runs very well. Offers 4g LTE services. NFC. Packed with features.
Negative: Camera app is difficult to use. Although there is an 8 megapixel camera, photos tend to look slightly grainy. Windows 8 can be difficult to operate.
Bottom Line: Nokia Lumia 822 is a Windows 8 smartphone that is packed with features. But this phone is not for the technologically impaired as Windows 8 can be counter intuitive.

Full Review: The Nokia Lumia 822 is a great smartphone. It uses Windows 8 which works really well on a phone. The battery life is pretty good, it will last a couple days before requiring charging. This phone works great as an office phone as it is packed in email applications. The phone does have Gorilla Glass 2 display, which is a little dated compared to other phones that use the newer and better Gorilla Glass 3, but keep in mind that this phone first came out in 2012. You also will want a screen protector as the screen will still scratch. My main gripe while using this phone is the camera app. The camera is an 8 megapixel camera, which is good, except the photos look a little grainy and the colors are a bit washed out, pictures look especially bad when taken at night. It may help to turn off the flash while taking photos when not needed. To take a photo you have to tap on the screen, since all the settings are on the screen, and you also have to pinch to zoom, it is very easy to take a picture by accident. Video quality is decent, not the greatest. The video sound quality is great. Filming a concert right in the front row by the amplifiers turned out great, there was no static or buzzing at all. There is a front facing camera too, but that is even worse than the back one. The phone has three buttons on the side. It has a power button, volume rocker, and then another button which seems to have no use, no matter how much I click on it it does absolutely nothing. As I mentioned in the positives this phone is packed with features. There is a driving app which will detect when you are driving and it will work as a GPS and it will alert you if you are speeding over the limit. Another feature is NFC which is a variety of uses. This phone can be used to make purchases using NFC (imagine scanning your phone instead of having to rifle through your wallet to get that stubborn credit card that does not want to come out). It will also store your passes and tickets. If you store your credit card information in the phone you can use it to make purchases on the app store instantly rather than spending ten minutes punching in information just to buy a 99 cent app. If you do store all this personal information, then please be safe and spend some time getting your phone secure. I do not particularly find the app useful, but that is just me. You will also be able to monitor you cellular data usage as well as internal storage. You can even monitor your health and fitness. You can also get an flashlight app to put that dual led flash to use. As for the feel of the phone, it is not the most standout looking phones. It does feel very solid and not cheap. It does have 16 Gb of storage built in, but you can add an SD card to get up to 64 Gb.
Overall I will rate this phone 4 out of 5 stars. Minus one because of the horrendous camera app, and the camera itself. I would recommend the phone. It has just about everything you want in a smartphone, and more. One last note, the price varies from each seller, so rather than jumping to the first seller that offers it, look around and you can save hundreds of dollars for the same exact phone.
