Eclipse T2800 Review
Positive: Inexpensive. Good sound quality. Easy to use. Looks nice.
Negative: Low durability. Touch screen is resistive. Clock can be inaccurate.
Bottom Line: This is a very good mp3 player for the price. It has many useful functions.
Price: $29.99 U.S
Full Review: At only thirty dollars, this is a nice mp3 player. It can play videos, songs, show pictures, record voice, take notes, read books, and it even makes a good calculator. The sound quality is great. With a good pair of headphones it will sound excellent. The included headphones are terrible, really low quality. On the back is the company logo and some information at the bottom. One of the sides has a port for an SD card. The bottom has two headphone jacks which both work excellent. There is also a micro usb port for charging. On the back again is the reset/microphone hole. To reset the device will require using a pin. There is a built in speaker, it is tinny but will get the job done for watching videos. The touch screen on the device is alright. If you have used a resistive touch screen before, this is no different. If you never had before, you will have to get used to it. The good thing about the touch screen is that anything can be used a stylus. One thing to keep in mind, do not drop the device. It can break with just one drop onto carpet. The inner screen can crack pretty nastily. For that I drop one star.
The video viewer is great. It switches automatically to landscape mode and videos play all the way through. There is 3 videos already there. One is a movie trailer, and the others are music videos. One music video is a country one, and it is pretty bad, the timing is completely off, and I thought it was a problem with the device, but watching the same music video on Youtube, it is just the music video's fault. There is also a punk music video, I personally do not like punk music so I do not watch it. To get to the home page, there is the home button on the bottom, and there is usually a back button on the screen. Next to video is pictures. It comes preloaded with several pictures. They look very nice, pretty sharp, but if you look closely, there is some pixelation. The music player is great. The controls are pretty easy to use. Again, it comes preloaded with songs. The bands are strange though. These bands are not well known. Youtube videos of their live performances have little views. The songs are good quality though. There is an applications icon. The applications are basic but useful. One is a notepad which writing notes is a bit of a pain. The keyboard is very small. The calculator is standard, it works well. The E-reader on this thing is good. The small screen though may be a problem for people who are far-sighted. It comes preloaded with a thank you note from Mach Speed (the company). The note gives you a link to get free music and gives you the link to Mach Speed for contact information. There is a built in clock, but it will be wrong if you shut off the device. My date on it is still from May 2012.
Overall the device is great and if you can get past the minor issues, then go ahead and buy it.
